Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and recurring reactions on court had led observers to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an better service.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

He defended four initial break points in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
